Katie Fahlgren was our student of the month for February. She is a member of the Key Club, Spanish Club, Junior Historians. She is in the top 15% of her class, and plans on attending Philadelphia University for Fashion Industry Management.
We had three Lions visiting from Monaca-Center. Peg and Carl Simon and ZC Bruno Stepanski. They were a well behaved group of Lions.....(We still have our bell!)
Lion Gaylen Miller won the 50-50. We will have to inform her hubby that she is now a woman of means. The stimulus plan for bankers is evidently working.
ZC MacWho wants to remind everyone that despite rumors to the contrary..... He is unable to accurately predict if you are going to attend the meeting or not. If you cannot make it, please call him at 724-843-9459 or 724-622-2405. He is thinking of starting a SPAM policy. If you miss a meeting and do not call, he might have some stale bread and an old can of Spam for you to make a sandwich, or you can pay for the meal you missed, and then eat SPAM with the other Lions. It'll give you a choice! When we are in tough economic times, we don't want to pay for meals we are not getting.
We had the second reading of the slate of officers for next year. Next meeting will be the final reading. (Although International has the list already.)
A $100 was approved for the Beacon Lodge Wish list, and $100 for district fund raiser tickets.
Lion Rieseck was not present to receive the rose information again. That is the first time Lion Ray has missed 2 meeting since becoming a Lion. We'll have to send Lion Chief Sir out to check on him.
