Who says that this is not a season of good news?? In case you didn't hear, the tree sale is over, so you can turn off your caller ID, turn your phone back on, stop wearing disguises or only leaving your house after dark. The King will not be pursuing anyone to sell trees for a while. (If you're bored, he is looking for someone to wash and wax his car!)

King Lion Tom and Lion Don want to thank everyone who took time to come out and work the tree lot, especially last weekend when 70 trees went flying off the lot.
Lion Larry and Lion Dave rated this year as a +2 year. They each gained about 2 pounds eating lunches at the tree lot. It might have been a +4 year, but Lion Don continually interrupted them while they were on their lunch break between 12 and 3.

Lion Don claims he has won the Where's Eric contest. He says that he saw Eric on the tree lot, and in fact, saw him sell some trees. To try and be fair, Lion Sir had the police department sketch artist take a description from Lion Don and draw a composite sketch of Eric Tonsetic. Upon looking at the sketch, there was something vaguely familiar about the picture. A final decision will be made shortly. Just in case, has anyone found a picture for on the soup cans?

Lion Dave has prepared the final accounting of the trees. Lion Don ordered 230 trees at a cost of $6,110. All monies deposited amounted to $8,901. After paying for the trees, a profit of $2,791 is realized. Calculating a profit of $13 per tree times the 230 trees, an anticipated profit was $2990. So, we must have had a visitor or two on the lot. With the tips given, even taking Dashing Don's Down and Dirty Discount Days into account, there is an indication that some trees migrated off the lot without leaving a forwarding address or payment. Lion Don wishes those people who "borrowed" a tree a special Merry Christmas.

Lion Don has made a couple announcements for next year. He believes his under study King Tom is ready to fly solo. Just to give him an early helping hand, Lion Don has already placed an order for next year. He increased the order by 10 Frasier, 10 Caanan, and dropped the number of Douglas by 20 so there will be 230 trees again. Lion Who was wondering if we should order an extra 100 trees. A committee will be formed to see if an adequate display site and tree lot can be established at 126 Carol Rose Drive for the extra 100 trees. Expect their report shortly!

May all the Chippewa Lions have a Merry Christmas
